Did the individual meet sales criteria? Did your social media presence grow by a certain percentage? Were you able to stay within a budget or meet a certain tangible goal? All of these are ways to gauge employee value and performance within your company. If the employee has set three to five of their own goals there’s ownership in them and it also gives their boss talking points, if needed, to check in periodically on how the employee is progressing toward the goal.
